Golovkin-Alvarez II: the long-waited sequel of the doubtful draw of the last year happened in Las Vegas at T-Mobile Arena, in front of a crowd of 22,000.

The spectacular fight this time ended with a winner, the Mexican super-star Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. The three judges picked a majority decision, with a 115-113,115-113,114-114. But even after this second fight, controversy is on the way. Many (most?) boxing analysts saw once again the Kazakh “GGG” as the real winner of the night. Actually, the Mexican didn’t “escape” like in the first match, fighting often in the center of the ring, but in the final rounds Canelo seemed in big troubles, under the fire of a Golovkin who looks fresh in his condition. Of course, it was a very close fight, but the final verdict leaves, one more time, with many doubts.

By the way, a notable night of sport, a fight that will be remembered for sure like a classic. The saga Golovkin-Canelo probably is not over: the third part of the trilogy has yet to come…
