Carlos Coello to fight for Kunitaka’s ISKA world title

Ponferrada, 16 of Juny 2018. Carlos Coello faced the experienced fighter Army Sasiprapa for the WBC title. In spite of an unfavorable state of the ring and a serious injury which forced the fighter to stay in the hospital one day before the fight, he went on with the it. Unfortunately, and despite that the heart of the fighter from Cadiz, the title felt into the thai opponent´s hands but Carlos promised to come back and get the World championship title he lost in this occasion.

Almost 6 months later, Carlos comes back to Spain in order to fulfill his promise. This Saturday 15th of December, Carlos 7 Muay Thai Gym will compete for the ISKA World title in the 57kg weight class, he will fight the current champion, japanese legend Kunitaka Fujiwara.

Kunitaka, known as “The Samurai”, is a fighter of 38 years old, he was WBC champion and ranked in the oldest stadium of Thailand, Radjadanerm Stadium. The japanese has 90 fights in total and 53 victories (35 of them by KO), 34 defeats and 3 draws and this is the third he defends this title.

After five consecutive wins and two defeats, the last one by split decision against the thai top Dennonpluag por Cherdchai, it will be Coello’s 72nd fight, with an opportunity to make history again.

The event named ‘MFC showdown 002″ takes place in Ponferrada (Spain), which according to the fighter, has become in his adoptive city because of all the help and support from the promoter Diego Vazquez, in the last few years.

She is 31 years old and she is from Cadiz (Spain). She started to practise Muay Thai in the middle of the year 2014 and then, this sport has become her passion. She made her debut in December of 2015 and after some won matches in the amateur level, she got the Spain Championship title in the 51kg category. She has moved to Thailand, to a Muay Thai Camp with the help of his teacher and big friend the World Champion, Carlos Coello Canales. Her dream is going on training and becoming in a real “ Nak Muay Ying” that in Thai language means: professional boxer of Muay Thai. In addition, another of her goals is helping the people who want to know and practise this sport, especially, she wants to contribute for growing the number of women in this contact sport.
